With offices in Memphis, Portland and Los Angeles, one of the biggest challenges we face is making sure all our team members are on the same page. If we’re not, not only can it negatively impact the client experience, but it can also make for unhappy team members. The last thing we want to do is have our teams not feeling like they’re getting the info they need in order to be successful on a project and in their careers. So, in order to ensure that success, we treat communication as a core value at VIA. How do we do it? Glad you asked …
At VIA, we employ several different methods to keep everyone on the same page – both within teams, as well as within the whole company. For projects, it’s vital that we’re constantly talking and sharing assets in real time so, we use tools like Slack, Google Drive and shared servers. Team members are constantly DMing and they even get crazy sometimes and pick up the cellular telephone thingy. Weird.
Internally, we also know it’s important to keep everyone in the loop with what’s going on within the company, so we have a monthly Town Hall and internal newsletter to highlight work, celebrate milestones and provide a dialogue between all our team members. It’s an opportunity for folks to gain awareness of projects as well as talk about ways we can improve as a whole. By having consistent and good communication within VIA, not only do we better serve our clients, but it’s also vital for the success of our culture and the happiness of our people!
So, don’t forget it. Constant communications within your business will make for happy teams and clients!
