Name: Sara Kaye Larson
Job Title: Associate Producer
What does that mean? What do you do? I produce commercial spots for some of our Ashley licensees. That means I work with clients on scripts and then with our production team to create the spots.
What’s the best part about working at VIA? The people, the coffee, and the work
What’s one thing about you that would shock us? I don’t like sushi.
Unusual skills? I have special skills in boxed furniture assembly, driving stick shifts, applying fake eyelashes, and I also have a proprietary frisbee trick that involves a cartwheel (all of these things must be done separately).
Before coming to VIA, what was the most interesting or unusual job you ever had? I worked at an eBay store and read scripts for a screenplay contest for an elderly couple that had a cable access show out of Malibu.
Your desk: messy or organized? It’s organized but there’s still time for that to change.
Beach or mountains? I love mountains but I’d probably survive longer on a beach.
Travel spot? Any roadside attraction or presidential library
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Triscuits
Something in your refrigerator right now: A museum of failed salads
If you were an animal, what would you be? A liger
What book did you last read? Real book? “The Sympathizer”
What celebrity do people think you look like? (a younger) Linda Blair
What’s the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? A rollerskating rink. Then a boat. Or a boat with a roller rink on it.
Best piece of advice you ever received: Be careful when taking advice.
Where have you lived? Fowlerville, St. Louis, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Memphis
What’s your favorite thing to do in Memphis? Walk the Big River Crossing or in the Old Forest, and hang with friends in midtown (southerners like to talk so that’s entertaining enough).
