Name: Callie Do
Job Title: Junior Animator
What does that mean? What do you do? I post-produce, animate and edit commercials. I talk to my team for feedback and they help me finalize the spots to give to clients.
What’s the best part about working at VIA? People are actually pretty cool at the office. I enjoy talking to each person and learning new things about them.
What’s one thing about you that would shock us? I was named after a character from the Hardy Boys. My dad didn’t know a good English name so he just found one from whatever book my brother was reading at the time.
Any hobbies? I draw and animate on my free time. But other hobbies include watching YouTube or play video games.
Before coming to VIA, what was the most interesting or unusual job you ever had? I sold tickets for camel rides at the Memphis Zoo. It’s not too unusual except I had an old man make a move on me, camels spitting on my hand, and plenty of little children running around telling me they don’t want to ride when parents make them.
List three words that describe VIA: I think Friendly, Laid-back, but Focused.
Your desk: messy or organized? Semi-Organized? It’s not messy, nor clean.
Beach or mountains? As long, as I’m alone and have Wi-Fi.
What’s your favorite movie, book or TV show? (Or all three):
Favorite Movie: I want to say Lord of the Rings…
Favorite Book(s): JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hobbit, and Silmarillion.
Favorite TV Show: You’d think I’d say Game of Thrones, but you’re wrong! It’s Stranger Things right now. Actually, I like both.
If you were an animal, what would you be? A red panda.
What phobias do you have? I have a fear of heights. I think it grew when I was at Dixie Landin’ for a drop tower ride at age 12; however, I’m never afraid when I’m flying on a plane.
Where have you lived? Pineville, LA has always been my hometown until I moved to Natchitoches for college, and then transferred to Memphis College of Art.
